Plants and friends

I put my houseplants outside this past week when it was nice hoping that they would be happy and thrive outside. I worry about the thunderstorms and the drastic change in temps. I hope that they will all survive. The ones I worry the most about are the babies, so small and fragile. Looking at my Purple Hart plant I can all ready see the change. They are supposed to have purple leaves, but my sad plant has only green leaves an long stems trying to reach to the sun. After 3 days outside the leaves have started to regain their purple color. Ah well I hope they grow.

On a similar note I have realized that I haven't been spending as much time and care on my friendships. I really need to make a personal effort to do so, but sometimes it is hard to put forth the effort. I think it would be worth it. It is hard for me to change and I hate loosing valued friendships. Ah well. I hope everyone will be patient with me. Love you all.

Shower Kitty

I forgot some of the very cute and interesting things kittens can get into. Since getting my new little fuzzball I have discovered all of these things all over again. Things like kittens like to eat plants and they like are intrigued by anything that moves including their own tail, plastic bags, and closed shower curtains.
The other day when Tony was taking a shower Reggie, our cat, jumped at the shower curtain not realizing that it would give way and he would be dumped into the water. My boyfriend being who he is didn't automaticly open the curtain and let the poor soaked kitten out he just laughed himself sick. Reggie finally escaped and was giving Tony dirty looks the whole rest of the day.

Mina the Wonder Hamster

I'm sad to report that Mina the wonder hamster has passed away recently. She lived at the Science Station until this summer's flooding, then I adopted her. She hadn't been doing so well this winter. A moment of silence for the beloved hamster.
Hello all. I know that it has been a long time between posts. I thought I should try to update more. I just never know what to post. Oh well.

I have converted another person to the wonders of Dr. Who. It is great. I also found a really fun and addicting game. Dokapon Kingdom for the Wii. It is great.

Floods

The river has gone crazy here in Cedar Rapids. I can't believe how much water we have in our city. It was originally suppose to crest at 20 feet but it went way over that and crested at 31.5 feet. It was so shocking to see the bridges underwater where there wasn't even ripples in the water. I hate the helpless feeling that this disaster has caused. I'm glad to see how many people have helped out. It got to the point where they didn't need any new volunteers, because they already had too many. I'm glad that most people followed the evacuations listed and got out while they could. Also I'm glad that all of my friends got moved to safer areas. I hope the river goes down so so we can start cleaning up and getting on with our lives. Everyone please stay safe. Over and out.

D&D forth Ed

Hello again people. I return from my long break from posting.

Dungeons and Dragons forth Edition:

After a long struggle to pre-order the player's handbook I finally resorted to going to Barnes and Noble. Strangely enough it was cheaper to order online than it was to get it in the store. I have my pre-order done and apparently it is already being shipped, which makes me super happy. I will have it around the ninth. I hope the transition to the new system will be easy. I have already made my player piece for the game out of sculpy. I have to finish painting her.

In other news:

I need to start working on my Summer Camp stuff. I'm almost done, but of course I got distracted. Ah for putting things off. Oh well.

Sledding

A friend of mine from work organized a sledding party last night. It was so much fun. Night sledding is the best. We used regular sleds, snow boards, dumpster lids, and even a plastic wading pool. Then we went to Perkins and I laughed so hard I was crying. It was awesome. I forgot how much fun sledding is. I think I made some new friends.
